Because,  a community is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens

Because, the very young need cared for and the very frail need cared about

Because, as a community, we care about the health and safety of all of our citizens

Because, we value an individuals’ right to have choices (be empowered) over how to live one’s life

Because, our community of individuals, businesses, organizations, and town government need to work together for the common good

We as Reading taxpayers support:Reading Town government in authorizing $50,000 of local taxpayer money to support Reading’s “Neighbor Caring about Neighbor” program in order to.    

Support the frail to stay well, stay safe, and stay connected to our community.   

- Provide nurse neighbor advocacy when our frail neighbors become ill

- Provide social support through the personal  relationship that results when “neighbors care about neighbors”
